The Narrative Approach

Interpret stories in a therapeutic context

Julien BETBEZE

Psychiatrist, Child Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist
and Trainer in Ericksonian Hypnosis

This interactive training is aimed at practitioners wishing to understand the tools and techniques of the narrative approach. It offers the possibility of accompanying and guiding a client by reclaiming their own story through narration.

Description

During this training on narrative therapies, we will develop the following points:

  • The links between narrative and systemic therapies (Bateson) and hypnosis (Erickson)
  • The Difference Between Mainstream History and Alternate History
  • The notion of narrative identity and secure third party

Objective of the module

  • Learn to deconstruct the dominant story that encloses the subject in double bonds
    • Learn to construct externalizing questions
    • Draw patients' attention to their resources and abilities
    • Learn to deconstruct the cultural context
    • Learn to work with dissociated automatic emotional and behavioral responses
  • Build a conversation to become the author of your life again
    • Knowing how to reintroduce the relational dimension through questioning
    • Knowing how to ask questions about intentionality
    • Build a new story that increases the capacity for choice and allows you to free yourself from emotional blockages related to attachment disorders
