Questioning and Relationship

Adopt and practice a systemic global vision
to act quickly on the process

Claude de SCORRAILLE and Grégoire VITRY

The systemic and strategic approach

It is based on an intervention method developed by the School of Palo Alto and developed by its current research centers. Its specificity and originality are:

  • to know how to apprehend the complexity of human relations and bring a biopsychosocial vision to the psychological and relational problems that develop in ever more volatile, unpredictable, complex and ambiguous contexts.
  • to be strategic in terms of relational regulation by relying on 2 essential techniques which are problem solving and strategic communication, which make it possible to reduce the complexity of a relational situation without distorting it and to obtain effective operational effects and sustainability in resource development and problem solving.

"A look at the world, an intervention model and a strategic and pragmatic approach to voluntary change."
Claude de Scorraille

Description

Questioning and relationship module includes 15 hours of lessons, divided into 5 sessions and approximately 15 hours of personal work. It explores the strategic potentials of questioning and of the intervening party's relational attitude towards a patient and their resistance to change. Thanks to practical exercises based on role plays, observations of real cases or case studies, you will have the opportunity to explore the adjustment capacities of the speaker - of his strategy, his communication and/or his relational attitude - in his questioning approach to optimize the therapeutic alliance in the service of the desired change.

  • 100% online, it alternates face-to-face half-days including individual or sub-group work time.
  • it is provided by specialized international trainers from the clinical world, business, scientific research and universities.

Openings/specialization

The " Questioning and Relationship " Module allows you to experiment with essential elements common to any type of therapeutic intervention to develop and consolidate the therapeutic alliance. It introduces the Practical level course of the LACT training in strategic systemic approach

This additional cross-cutting contribution is transferable to different types of activities and functions of support, education and helping relationship professionals or stakeholders in the clinical world.

Objective of the module

Structure and adjust the relational strategies of the practitioner in the service of an effective, efficient and ecological therapeutic alliance with the patient

Skills acquired at the end of the training (pedagogical objectives)

  • Reassure the patient with the help of a rigorous and flexible intervention framework in order to stimulate his commitment to the process of change
  • Deepen your knowledge of the patient's perception-reaction system, by observing and questioning his relational dynamics, in order to choose and implement an appropriate intervention (direct, indirect, paradoxical depending on the resistance profile).
  • Adjust questioning communication to the way in which the patient relates (relational dynamics, resistance profile) using an adjusted relational strategy (attunement, strategic communication, empathy breakdown, irreverence) in order to reinforce the therapeutic alliance and patient compliance
  • Question the corrective emotional experiences obtained by the implementation of prescriptions and/or reframing to assess the impact on the progressive consolidation of change"
