Minutes of the meeting of the Association of Doctors of the 6th arrondissement of Paris with Cabinet LACT, specialized in the regulation of disorders and the prevention of psychosocial risks, on the theme "STRESS AT WORK".

Nearly thirty doctors attended, on Tuesday April 8, 2014, the evening debate organized by the Association of doctors of the 6th arrondissement of Paris, around the theme of "Suffering at work" followed by a dinner .

      hirigoyan
Among the participants, who also came from the 7th and 8th arrondissements , Marie-France Hirogoyen, psychiatrist author of " LE HARCÈLEMENT MORAL ÉTAT DES LEUX ", underlined the recent evolution of complaints and requests collected in the offices of doctors or psychiatrists by patients increasingly concerned with stress, anxiety disorders, symptoms of depression, doubts and loss of motivation related to their work: "Doctor, there are my evaluations at work next week, I have to be performance, give me something or a little prozac because I want to make a good impression on my line manager" or even "I have an employee who does as she pleases... I'm not up to it … there are plenty of layoffs around me, what should I do? »…

For the occasion, the Amicale had invited LACT, a firm specializing in the regulation of disorders and the prevention of psychosocial risks, to come and testify to its practice and its experience of systemic consultation of suffering at work ©, requested by both individuals suffering in their work context than by companies frequently confronted with situations of burn-out, harassment and more generally with cases of psychological and relational weakening in the workplace.

As part of their systemic consultation of suffering at work © , the speakers of LACT, practitioners of the systemic and strategic approach of Palo-Alto, shed light on situations of suffering in their interactional dimension (both in the relationship of self to self , than that of oneself to others) and aim to provide patients with concrete help allowing them to consider relationships and situations that are difficult for them from a new angle and to free themselves from temporary relational incapacities by mobilizing personal resources up to little requested here.

This work can be done in addition to the drug prescription of the general practitioner or the specialist since it focuses on the psychological and relational dimension in the daily life of the patient.

Claude de Scorraille's intervention from the LACT firm was structured around the analysis of a practical case encountered and treated by one of its speakers: how a 45-year-old employee who redoubles his efforts and self-sacrifice until exhausted, for fear of being removed from the workforce much younger than him, manages to alternately regulate his relations with his "unscrupulous" partner and his "indifferent" hierarchical superior.

This was followed by information on the dynamics of exhaustion leading to burnout considered by LACT as an adjustment disorder : the way of adapting to a difficult situation does not help the one who puts it in place to build an adaptation. sustainable over time. And to underline the importance of the entourage (relatives, colleagues, hierarchy, HRD, etc.) which, depending on the case and most often despite themselves, can contribute to aggravating the dynamic of exhaustion instead of neutralizing it.

Dr. Hirigoyen underlined the importance in his view of a desirable reinforced collaboration between the occupational physicians and the attending physicians or specialists of these employees who suffer at work in order to better help them.

A wish shared by Dr Piquet, occupational physician, who for his part testified to his collaboration with Cabinet LACT and the positive individual results obtained. The HRD of the company where she works had signed a contract with LACT to intervene in situations of proven or imminent psychosocial disorders. The occupational physician has appropriated this resource to also make it a prevention tool and has agreed with the HRD the possibility of making a direct recommendation to the overdue employee if necessary. He praised the complementarity of this relational approach to conventional treatments for symptoms of stress or anxiety disorders caused by work and sees in it possible developments to be implemented also on a more collective level.

Claude de Scorraille, co-founder of the LACT firm and interlocutor of this occupational physician, confirmed that a recommendation from the occupational physician led de facto to stronger and more solid patient involvement than when the recommendation comes from the HRD (considered always with great ambivalence by the employee). And that the results and the help brought to those who suffer are significantly increased.

      A very popular debate evening

23 doctors (10 general practitioners, 12 specialists and 1 occupational physician) responded to an evaluation questionnaire following their participation in a workshop on the theme of "Suffering at work", organized on April 8 by the Association of doctors in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, and led by Lact, a firm specializing in the regulation of disorders and the prevention of psychosocial risks.
