From 1981 to 1997, Jean-Luc Roquet worked as a nurse in the Air Force, in Bordeaux, Rochefort, Toulon, Senegal, Saudi Arabia, Iraq.
In his various assignments, he held nursing positions with military and civilian personnel, both in France and abroad in peacetime, and during the Persian Gulf War in 1991. From 1997 to 1998, he worked in the Parc and Hippocrate psychiatric clinics in Saujon (17).
He accompanied patients in psychological difficulty by implementing drug treatments for depression, and shock therapy. He has enriched his experience of the helping relationship, in particular through nursing interviews, complements to psychiatric medical consultations. From 1998 to 2011, he practiced as a liberal in a care practice in Périgny and Echillais (17).
Serving a semi-rural population, he developed his sense of contact with patients and their families. Throughout these 13 years of dedication, trained in cancer chemotherapy and peritoneal dialysis at home, Jean-Luc Roquet has assisted his patients at all stages of their illnesses. It has also supported people at the end of their lives, particularly within the framework of a partnership with the RVH Palliative Care Network17. In parallel with his job as a nurse, he has taken training in various disciplines, such as kinesiology, relaxation, Yoga Nidra, laughter yoga and Ericksonian hypnotherapy.
He was also a trainer at the School of Sophrology and Therapy in Mérignac (33), for the benefit of future sophrologists and hypnotherapists. He made various interventions with the student nurses of the IFSI of Rochefort (17). Since 2010, he has devoted himself to hypnotherapy, an activity he carries out in Rochefort.
He is also a trainer in his own school of hypnotherapy. Also an author, he has published a dozen books, including: Offer yourself a smile, a little guide to self-esteem;
Relaxations, a path to well-being; Free yourself from cigarettes, in 2015; Self-hypnosis for all, in 2016; Tomboy, Successful Girls! in 2017; Hypnotherapy(s), Celebration of sessions, in 2018 and The therapist and patient metaphors, an as-if-therapy, in 2019. (His next book Hypnosis & Tabocology is to be published by Editions Satas) He has collaborated on a professional journal (TRANSES, Editions Dunod 2019). He runs a Hypnosis & Tabacology blog on the network-praticiens.com professional platform for the benefit of hypnosis practitioners. Since 2015, he has given conferences for the general public.
He also shares his experience with his peers, during interventions in professional congresses: CFHTB Montpellier 2019; JLH Lyon 2020. He acts as a trainer for the Francophone Association of New Hypnosis, and for the training organization Cadencia Inginierie.
